One of the biggest weeks of the collector car year is here — from six high-end collector car auctions to concours, shows, and vintage races, Monterey’s got it all.
Monterey certainly sets a tone for the year, as it brings in collectors from around the globe to bid on some very expensive and rare machinery. Will this year’s results break records? I expect they will, but how much is anyone’s guess. We’ll just have to wait to see.
ACC and SCM will be all over the place during Car Week, which kicks off right now. We’ll have complete reports of this year’s events in the next issue of ACC, and you can see what we’re up to right now by following us on facebook and Instagram.
If you’re on the ground on the peninsula, look for us at the Gooding & Co auction in Pebble Beach, Concorso Italiano, Legends of the Autobahn, and at Gordon McCall’s Motorworks Revival 2018. I’ll also be at SCM’s Insider’s Seminar at Gooding on Friday morning, where I’ll be taking part in a discussion about the current market as well as what cars are smart buys for the future. If you need a reminder of what all is going on, check out the Monterey guide we built over at Sports Car Market — it’s the definitive guide to this week’s events.
Beyond all that, I’ll be reviewing a couple of cars for the next issue and shooting as many pictures as my camera’s memory card can hold. If you see me (or anyone else from SCM or ACC), feel free to stop us and say hi. We love to meet our readers, and Monterey’s got some great tires to kick.
Otherwise, watch for our next issue, which will cover all of the action from this week!
